Today was my first PDP session - Physician's Development Programme (aka Med Fac's sophisticated way of saying - hospital visit). An eventful day it was! Witnessing heartwrencing stories of people. Personally, I really gaped awstruck at how people are so strong willed and they have beautifully endured and fought against the struggles. I felt faint and dizzy when I came out of the hopsital, but the constant image of a single mother fighting to protect her few months old son who is suffering from meningits, or the boy who could say with a straight face that he has no kidneys led me to review my purpose of being a doctor. Indead it is the hope that I could provide as a doctor, to fight until the end is what drives me to study uncomprehendable biochem cycles =). Yet the knowledge that after all everybody's destiny lies in the hands of the Almighty and all I can be is an instrument that He can use to carry out His will is a humbling realisation. I feel inspired to help! !nspired to make a difference in my own capacity!
